Loads of Newcastle fans have been reacting to some transfer news on a former player, as Kenedy is reportedly set to join Championship outfit Reading.

Talk Reading claim the Royals are set to secure the capture of the Chelsea winger on loan, before Thursday’s transfer deadline.

Mark Douglas, publishing editor for The Chronicle, has added validity to the report, claiming that the Magpies were quoted at £30m to sign the youngster permanently last summer, while Oliver Harbord of Football.London has also seemingly confirmed the move is on, calling it a “strange move”.

The young Blue spent 18 months on loan on Tyneside, impressing in his first temporary stay before completely going off the boil last season, registering just one goal and one assist in 25 league appearances.

With all due respect to Reading, being quoted to Premier League teams at a whopping £30m is quite a height to fall to last season’s twentieth-best team in the Championship from, and the Toon Army are sad to hear of the 23 year-old’s fate.

Maybe he will rediscover his spark without the pressure of the top-flight, but the Twitter reactions down below are disappointed in their former loanee…

Aston Villa supporters’ plea for a new goalkeeper has been ramped up following their pre-season victory over League One side Shrewsbury Town after some fans weren’t best pleased with the performance of Jed Steer.

Dean Smith’s side were victorious thanks to a second-half Scott Hogan strike but it was the man between the sticks which left much of the Villa Park fanbase worrying ahead of their Premier League return.

One supporter took to Twitter to label the 26-year-old a liability whilst others begged the club to go out and pay for Jack Butland, one of Villa’s reported transfer targets – one even insisted they should break the bank for him.

Steer broke into Smith’s line-up after a mini-goalkeeper crisis at the start of the year as first-choice Orjan Nyland picked up a season-ending injury and Andre Moreira’s loan was cancelled.

As a result, the 6 foot 2 keeper began to cement his name as the first on the team sheet each week, playing 19 games following a recall from Charlton Athletic.

Other fans claimed the shot-stopper isn’t up to the standard of the Premier League with one member of the Villa support saying that strikers in the top-flight would punish his mistakes, calling him a disaster waiting to happen.

The Express & Star reported that the club were going to test the waters with a £20m bid for Butland early last month but Sky Sports have since said the interest was cooled as Stoke City were unwilling to budge in their valuation of the England international.

So one of the transfer sagas of the summer has finally come to an end. Romelu Lukaku’s name dominated the headlines since the end of last season, and had been linked with a move to Italy virtually all summer.

Reports in recent weeks had seen a lot of twists and turns over where the Belgian’s next destination would be, and it appeared to be a straight fight between Inter and Juventus for his services.

However, following the collapse of a proposed swap deal involving Lukaku and Paulo Dybala, Inter came storming back into the race and have now finally got their man.

As confirmed by Manchester United’s official website, Lukaku has completed a move to Inter, whilst Sky Sports report that the fee involved in taking the Belgian to the Nerazzurri is around £73m.

After hearing the news the 26-year-old had finally departed Old Trafford, United fans took to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the saga finally ending.

Many supporters of the Manchester side were fuming with the decision to let Lukaku go and wondered where all the reported money had gone.

Indeed, some fans expressed their concerns behind not signing a replacement and borrowed the “specialist in failure” phrase from former manager Jose Mourinho to criticise Ed Woodward and the United hierarchy.

February 25, 2016. The day Marcus Rashford announced himself as an Old Trafford hero. The striker scored twice on his first-team debut against FC Midtjylland in the Europa League, and then followed it up with another brace against Arsenal just three days later.

The then 18-year-old took his chance after things fell into place for him. Anthony Martial had damaged his hamstring in the warm-up against the Danish side and Rashford stepped up from the substitutes bench and never looked back.

One man who is creating equal excitement at Old Trafford is 17-year-old Mason Greenwood. The academy product has impressed at youth level with the Red Devils and had his first taste of the first-team set-up last season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. And if the Norwegian’s comments this summer are to be believed, Greenwood could be following in Rashford’s footsteps sooner rather than later.

Taking his chance

The striker, who can play out wide too just like Rashford, tore up the youth scene at United last season. As well as registering 15 goals in 13 U18 games, the starlet struck five in five in the UEFA Youth League – the academy equivalent of the Champions League.

Such was the impression that Greenwood made in his appearances for the first-team, that Solskjaer insisted during his pre-season tour press conference that the youngster would be given plenty more chances next season.

He said: “For me, he’ll definitely get more game time. Everyone’s just enjoying watching him develop and grow, you know, because that step up from Academy football to men’s football can be difficult.

“Mason will definitely play more games. He has grown over the summer and I think his confidence has grown too after the Cardiff game, as he was our best player.”

Like Rashford, the stars will undoubtedly have to align for Greenwood to be thrust into the spotlight. But things at the moment look incredibly promising for the teenager. Romelu Lukaku’s future is still very much up in the air and if the Belgian marksman were to depart, then the club would only really be left with Rashford as the side’s most senior striker.

It could potentially give Greenwood greater opportunities to star in the first-team and if Rashford continues to blow hot and cold like he did last season, then the 17-year-old could certainly go on to take advantage. All he needs to do is take inspiration from his teammate and strike partner to grab his opportunity when it comes.

According to Het Nieuwsblad, via Sports Witness, Kevin Mirallas is keen to leave Everton this summer to return to Belgium.

Mirallas has scored 38 times in 186 appearances for Everton since joining the Merseyside outfit from Olympiacos in 2012.

The 31-year-old spent the second half of the 2017-18 season back on loan at the Greek giants, though, before representing Fiorentina on a temporary basis last term.

Mirallas still has one year left to run on his contract at Goodison Park.

However, according to Het Nieuwsblad, via Sports Witness, the attacker wants to leave Everton to return to the country of his birth this summer.

Mirallas – said to be on £70,000-a-week – is said to have attracted interest from Belgian trio Standard Liege, Anderlecht and Royal Antwerp.

And it would be fair to say that the Everton supporters are desperate for the 60-time international to leave their club in this summer’s transfer window.

After last night, you could be forgiven for Arsenal fans never wanting to see Mesut Ozil in the red and white shirt again.

The German playmaker yet again went missing in what was the Gunners biggest game in some years as Arsenal fell to an embarrassing 4-1 defeat to Chelsea, dooming the north London club to another season of Europa League football and effectively ending the club’s status as a ‘big team’.

Fans are demanding change this summer, lots of it, and at the heart of the protests is the sale of Ozil, who has been largely ineffective this season, and although offloading the former Real Madrid star will be a tall order due to his wages, the club will find it easy enough to find a replacement if new reports are to be believed.

According to Bild, Arsenal are interested in Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mario Gotze, who is reportedly set to leave his boyhood club after a second stint with the Bundesliga giants, and if the Gunners can sell on Ozil, the 26-year-old playmaker would be an ideal replacement.

Compared to Lionel Messi following his winning goal in the 2014 World Cup by Joachim Low, Gotze’s career has endured a mini-rebirth since returning to Dortmund from Bayern Munich in 2016, scoring seven goals and assisting seven in 26 appearances this season alone.

Although he is not quite the player that lit up the world in Brazil five years ago, Gotze is still a player who can bring a lot to Arsenal should Unai Emery make a move for the playmaker, able to operate behind the striker as well as take over the attacking burden should Alexander Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang need a break.

Arsenal are in need of a refresh this summer, and in Gotze they will have a player who can easily replace Ozil in the team as well as offer goals and assists for a team deprived of a real number 10.

أكد المدافع المغربي بدر بانون، المنضم حديثًا لصفوف الأهلي ثقته في قدرته على تحمل الضغوط، مشددًا على أن تجربته الطويلة مع الرجاء المغربي بجماهيريته العريضة جعلته يكتسب الكثير من الخبرات، التي ستساعده حتما على النجاح في تجربته مع الأحمر.

وقال بانون في تصريحات للموقع الرسمي للنادي الأهلي: “سأجتهد كثيرًا لتطوير قدراتي من أجل النجاح داخل الأهلي، وسأحول الضغط المنتظر مواجهته في بداية رحلتي مع الفريق إلى عامل إيجابي يدعمني في رحلتي مع النادي الأعرق في إفريقيا”.

وتابع: “أجيد اللعب في العديد من المراكز، سواء في خط الدفاع أو الوسط، ولكن على المستوى الشخصي أعشق اللعب مدافعًا صريحًا”.

وتطرق بانون للحديث عن مواطنه ولاعب الأهلي السابق وليد أزارو: “كنت أتمنى أن يكون موجودًا في صفوف الفريق، خاصة أننا نرتبط معا بعلاقة قوية جدًّا”.

واستكمل: “وليد أزارو تحدث معي عن انضمامي إلى الأهلي، وشجعني بقوة على إتمام هذه الخطوة، أزارو يعشق الأهلي وجماهيره، وتحدث معي بشكل أكثر من رائع عن تجربته مع نادي القرن، وعلى المستوى الشخصي كنت أتمنى مزاملته في صفوف الأهلي ولكنها كرة القدم في النهاية، وبالطبع أتمنى له التوفيق في رحلته الجديدة مع ناديه السعودي”.

دافع أسطورة نادي ليفربول، جون ألدريدج، عن جناح الفريق الأول لكرة القدم الحالي، محمد صلاح، بعد سيل الانتقادات التي تلقاها في الأيام الماضية.

وكان محمد صلاح محط أنظار الخبراء في الكرة الإنجليزية، خاصة بعد ركلة الجزاء التي حصل عليها أمام وست هام يونايتد في مباراة، السبت الماضي، في بطولة الدوري الممتاز.

أغلب الآراء كانت تهاجم محمد صلاح عبر شاشات القنوات الإنجليزية، وهناك من وصفه بالممثل الكبير الحائز على جائزة الأوسكار نتيجة لسقوطه داخل منطقة الجزاء بعد احتكاك مع مدافع وست هام، آرثر ماسوكو.

وعبر ألدريدج عن رأيه فيما فعله محمد صلاح وهل فعلًا أسقط نفسه للحصول على ركلة الجزاء أم لا؟ وكتب عن الأمر في صحيفة “إندبندنت” الإيرلندية: “أولاً وقبل كل شيء، كانت هناك ركلة جزاء مستحقة لصالح ليفربول”.

وتابع: “نعم، كان رد فعل مو مبالغًا فيه، كما يفعل الكثير من اللاعبين سواء الإنجليز أو المحترفين، هذا تصرف قد تسلل إلى لعبة كرة القدم في العقود القليلة الماضية ولكنه موجود منذ زمن كبير”.

وأضاف: “ليس فقط المهاجمين من يقومون بذلك، جون تيري في عهد مورينيو كان سيئًا مثل المهاجمين”.

وواصل تصريحاته: “نعم، ربما سقط محمد صلاح بسهولة تامة لكنه تعرض للركل، سواء أحب الناس ذلك أم لا، فهذا ما عليك فعله للحصول على رد فعل من الحكم، سيكون من الأفضل أن يحصلون على قرار من الحكم بدون سقوط لكن هذا لم يحدث أبدًا على مدار الفترة الماضية”.

واستمر: “اعتقد أن الخطأ يقع على المدافعين الذين يعطون الفرصة للمهاجمين مثل محمد صلاح أو هاري كين داخل منطقة الجزاء ويقومون بضربهم، لكني أتمنى أن يكون مو أكثر حذرًا في المستقبل لأن فقد بالفعل الكثير من ركلات الجزاء التي كان ينبغي أن يحصل عليها بسبب ردود أفعاله”.

وأكمل: “الطريقة التي يلعب بها من الأطراف دائمًا ما تضع الضغط على المدافعين داخل منطقة الجزاء، لكن هناك الكثير من ركلات الجزاء لم يستطع الحصول عليها لذلك أتمنى ألا أراه يسقط بسهولة على الأرض على الرغم من صعوبة ذلك لأنها عادة مثل الكثير من اللاعبين تكون في حمضهم النووي”.

وأتم تصريحاته: “محمد صلاح ليس غشاشًا، فهو لا يقوم بما يقوم به أكثر من أي لاعب آخر، اعتقد أن هناك الكثير ممن هم أسوأ ولكن يتم تسليط الضوء عليه لأنه لاعب رائع”.
