Paul Farbrace, the Sri Lanka coach, has resigned with immediate effect in order to take up a role with the ECB, Sri Lanka Cricket has confirmed. The development came a day after Farbrace returned to Colombo and met with SLC officials to discuss his position, following reports that he had been approached by the ECB to become assistant coach to Peter Moores, the new England coach.Farbrace had been expected to have further meetings with SLC on Tuesday, but had sent in his letter of resignation before the board had had a chance meet him. SLC secretary Nishantha Ranatunga said that although the board regretted his decision to leave the role, they had understood the reasons behind it.Significantly better pay and a desire to work in the country of his birth are believed to be the primary reasons for Farbrace’s early departure from Sri Lanka. After talks on Monday, Ranatunga said Farbrace had been offered an “attractive package” by ECB, the likes of which SLC could not hope to match. His tenure was marked by off-field upheaval, as much as on-field success. Sri Lanka lost only one out of 18 matches under his watch, winning the World T20 and Asia Cup in that time, but at his time of departure, the players remained locked in a contracts dispute with the board, seven weeks after their previous agreements expired. Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara also clashed with SLC officials over the announcement of their T20 retirements. Farbrace said, however, his experience in the role had not been soured by off-field events.He had also said he had not applied for the England position, but was approached by the ECB on Thursday, two days before the ECB confirmed Moores as head coach. It is understood Moores had a major say in who he wanted to work with and was strongly in favour of Farbrace.SLC have not yet worked out the legal repercussions of Farbrace terminating his contract,Ranatunga said. The coach has walked out inside a six-month probationary period, which may mean neither he, nor ECB, are liable to compensate SLC, even though another clause in the contract states Farbrace must give six months’ notice before leaving the role.Sri Lanka’s short-term plans have been landed in some disarray by Farbrace’s departure, as they prepare for a tour of Ireland and England that begins on May 7. Following that tour, Sri Lanka is set to host no.1 Test side South Africa at home in July, before Pakistan’s expected arrival for another full tour in August. Their plans for the 2015 World Cup will also have been somewhat hampered.An interim appointment is likley for the upcoming tour, with assistant coach Marvan Atapattu the frontrunner to assume the role. Including two other temporary appointments, Atapattu would become the seventh head coach Sri Lanka have had since 2011. Ranatunga said the board had not yet decided whether to open up a fresh application process for the job.

ووجه الصحفيون سؤالًا إلى توخيل في مؤتمره الصحفي قبل مباراة ليفربول الودية غدًا في سنغافورة حول كين، ورد المدرب: “لن أرد على هذا السؤال، علينا أن نتجاهله، فأنا لن أعطيك الإجابة التي تتخيلها”.

وعن نمو الدوري السعودي والصفقات القوية: “ليس لدي تعليق ذكي على هذا الأمر، فهو وضع جديد مشابه لما حدث من قبل في الصين”.

وأضاف: “يحاول المسئولون هناك أن يكونوا أكثر شهرة وأن يبنوا علامة تجارية قوية، فهم يوقعون مع الكثير من اللاعبين والمدربين الجيدين”.

وموسم انتقالات بايرن ميونخ: “في رأيي ليس لدينا لاعب خط وسط في مركز 6، لديه أسلوب دفاعي وقادر على حماية خط الدفاع، جميع اللاعبين في خط الوسط لديهم مرونة في التحرك”.

وواصل تصريحاته: “نحن وضعنا أكثر من اسم على طاولة المفاوضات لتعزيز صفوف الفريق، لكن لدينا عدد قليل من الأسماء التي نركز عليها بالوقت الحالي”.

والأجنحة: “لقد أثبت جنابري وساني وكومان مدى قدرتهم على قيادة هجوم بايرن ميونخ، لدينا خيارات عديدة في وجود ماتياس تيل، إيريك تشوبو موتينج وجمال موسيالا”.

وأتم: “لست يائسًا مما يحدث، نحن كجهاز فني لدينا ثقة كبيرة في اللاعبين، إذا كان هناك إمكانية للتعاقد مع لاعبين جدد سنكون سعداء، ليس هناك حاجة لأن تكون عنيدًا وتحاول الضغط لحسم الصفقات، لأن هناك عددًا قليلاً من اللاعبين الذين يمكنهم جعلنا أقوى”.

تسبب مهاجم النادي الأهلي السابق، برونو سافيو، في أزمة في بوليفيا بعد الرحيل عن بطل الدوري المصري ودوري أبطال إفريقيا في الأيام القليلة الماضية.

وعاد سافيو إلى ناديه السابق بوليفار مرة أخرى بعد أقل من عام، بسبب فشله في إثبات قدراته للمدرب، مارسيل كولر، واستبعاده من أغلب مباريات الموسم للإصابات وعدم الالتزام.

ولكن بعد عودة سافيو إلى بوليفار أصبحت هناك مشكلة، ربما كانت مؤجلة بسبب انتقاله إلى الأهلي لكنها عادت إلى الأضواء هناك.

المشكلة تخص طرد سافيو في مباراة ألويز ريدي في بطولة الدوري البوليفي قبل رحيل البرازيلي إلى الأهلي، بعد الاعتداء على حكم المباراة في سبتمبر 2022، وكانت هناك شكوك حول إمكانية إيقافه مع المارد الأحمر.

لكن لم يتم إيقاف سافيو لأن الاتحادين مختلفان، رغم مطالبات رئيس رابطة الحكام في بوليفيا، فيكتور شامبي، بحرمان اللاعب من اللعب لمدة قد تصل إلى عام ولكن لم تصدر لجنة الانضباط أي قرار بعد انتقاله إلى الأهلي.

لكن عادت المشكلة للأضواء من جديد هناك في بوليفيا في الساعات الماضية، لأن سافيو عاد من جديد إلى بوليفار وبالتالي، حددت لجنة الانضباط مدة لإصدار قرارها النهائي في غضون 5 أيام، بحسب صحيفتي “Late” و”Eldeber” البوليفيتين.

هناك اعتراض من نادي بوليفار على الأمر، لأن اللاعب لم يتم إخطاره بموعد التحقيق بسبب سفره إلى القاهرة ولم يكن لديه القدرة للدفاع عن نفسه، واعتبر النادي البوليفي وقتها أن اللاعب ليس ضمن فريقه وبالتالي تجاهل فترة التحقيق.

الآن، تعتبر لجنة الانضباط سافيو لم يحضر التحقيق وتمرد على الأمر، عكس ما يعتقد نادي بوليفار لكن اللجنة القانونية هناك تريد أن يبدأ التحقيق من البداية ويتم إخطار اللاعب ثم يتم تقديم استئناف للدفاع عنه.

وعلق مارسيلو كلور (رئيس بوليفار) على القضية عبر حسابه الرسمي على “تويتر”، وكتب: “القضية معيبة، لأنها تستند إلى خطاب استدعاء لم يتم قبوله، هناك انتهاك للحقوق في الدفاع عن اللاعب، حيث لم يتم الاستماع إليه مطلقًا”.

وينتظر الجميع يوم 14 يوليو من أجل معرفة العقوبة الموقعة على سافيو من اللجنة التأديبية بالاتحاد البوليفي لكرة القدم، بينما يتدرب اللاعب البرازيلي بصورة طبيعية مع بوليفار تحت قيادة مدربه، بينيات سان خوسيه.

يشهد اليوم الخميس 22-6-2023 إقامة 3 مباريات على المستوى المحلي وذلك في إطار منافسات بطولتي الدوري المصري وكأس مصر.

ويخوض فريق الكرة بالأهلي مباراة قوية أمام نظيره حرس الحدود مساء اليوم بالمواجهة المؤجلة بينهما من الجولة الـ16 للدوري.

تحدث ياسر المسحل، رئيس الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم، عن تأثير النجم البرتغالي كريستيانو رونالدو على منافسات الدوري السعودي، وإمكانية انتقال ليونيل ميسي للعب في المسابقة، وارتباطه بنادي الهلال.

وأعلن باريس سان جيرمان الفرنسي رحيل ميسي رسميًا بعد عامين من انتقاله للفريق مجانًا من برشلونة.

وفي مقابلة مع صحيفة “الموندو”، قال المسحل: “نعمل على زيادة مشجعي كرة القدم في جميع أنحاء المملكة والترحيب بمشجعين جدد لزيادة الاهتمام وتطوير كرة القدم الوطنية على جميع المستويات”.

وأضاف: “أكثر من 2.6 مليون شخص دون سن الثلاثين يلعبون كرة القدم و80٪ من السكان يلعبون ويشاهدون ويحضرون المباريات”.

وواصل المسحل: “نريد أن يصبح الدوري السعودي للمحترفين أكثر إثارة وتنافسية وأن ينمو الاهتمام وأن يكون الدوري أكثر جاذبية لمشجعينا وبقية العالم، لهذا السبب أصبح توقيع نجوم العالم العظماء أحد أهدافه الرئيسية”.

وأشار: “وصول كريستيانو رونالدو إلى النصر قد أضاف قيمة كبيرة إلى دوري روشن والسعودية، وعندما وصل 28 ألف مشجع خرجوا لحضور مباراة النادي المقبلة على أرضه رغم غيابه”.

واستطرد المسحل: “لقد ألهمت شخصيته الملايين من الفتيان والفتيات في البلاد، مما قد يؤدي إلى جيل جديد من مواهب كرة القدم في المستقبل، لقد دعم وصوله استراتيجيتنا لإثارة الاهتمام وزيادة المشاركة، بفضل ملفه الشخصي ومكانته كأيقونة”.

وشدد: “رونالدو نموذج يحتذى به، وله سجل قوي من الاحتراف، وهو مدرك تمامًا لالتزاماته داخل وخارج الملعب، مثل جميع لاعبي الدوري السعودي، كان لانتقال رونالدو إلى السعودية أثر إيجابي على كرة القدم في المملكة”.

وعن فرص انضمام ميسي للدوري السعودي، علّق المسحل قائلاً: “ميسي لاعب رائع وأسطورة كرة قدم، أي دوري سيرحب بوصوله، وبصفتي مشجع لكرة القدم، سأكون سعيدًا بالطبع لأنه سيلعب يومًا ما في المملكة العربية السعودية”.

وأصر: “بمجرد اتخاذ القرارات، ستصدر السلطات المختصة الإعلانات الرسمية في الوقت المناسب”.

كما أفاد أن الهدف في السعودية، ضم لاعبين شباب رفيعي المستوى وأوضح: “رؤية النجوم الصغار يلعبون في بطولاتنا هو أحد تطلعاتنا الرئيسية ونعتقد أنه يمكن تحقيق ذلك من خلال استراتيجيتنا لتحسين كرة القدم”.

وأتم: “في الوقت الحالي، هدفنا هو توفير البنية التحتية المناسبة ومنصات التطوير للمواهب المحلية لتصبح أفضل النجوم الشباب في العالم وتلعب في المملكة العربية السعودية”.

Martin: Improved SRH performance came too late

Daniel Vettori, the Sunrisers Hyderabad head coach, has clarified that the team’s batting style wasn’t aggressive by default, after their washout against Delhi Capitals knocked them out of contention to make the IPL 2025 playoffs. But he did note that the conditions in Hyderabad didn’t match their expectations, and that they were tricky for batters.”I definitely didn’t say after every match I was backing an aggressive approach,” Vettori said. “I said we’re about assessing conditions and this year, the conditions weren’t as we expected. If you look at last year, there were a lot of high-scoring games here.”These surfaces in particular have been a little bit different. It has been tricky, it hasn’t been easy for the batters. All we’ve talked about is assessing conditions, trying to read the game and understand what to do in certain situations. I think the guys are innately aggressive, but certainly, this season has been about trying to establish what’s been required on the day.”Related

Hyderabad has hosted six games so far and teams have crossed 200 in four of the 11 innings in total. However, teams crossed 200 seven times in 12 innings last year. The reason for the reduced high-scoring pitches, according to Vettori, was the conditions being more bowler-friendly.”There have been two surfaces that have been 250-plus, and there have been four here that have been probably more conducive for the fast bowlers. Not so much the spinners but new ball has been a little bit sticky, hard to hit, not coming onto the bat. The IPL has some of the best new-ball bowlers in the world and they were able to exploit those conditions.”With three wins in ten games, SRH came into the game needing a win to stay alive in the tournament. They were in a good position to do that after reducing DC to 133 for 7. But rain arrived after the end of the first innings, much to Vettori’s frustration.”Obviously, it’s disappointing. We came in with high hopes, but we haven’t been consistent enough with our performances. I’ve spoken to you guys a number of times around just not being able to put complete performances together. Pat Cummins’ new-ball spell had set up SRH’s strong start. He sliced through DC’s top order in the powerplay and finished with figures of 3 for 19. He bowled the first over as Mohammed Shami, who has had a poor season with SRH so far, was left out.Shami has taken six wickets in nine games at an average and strike rate of 56.16 and 11.23 respectively. Vettori said the call to leave out Shami was based on conditions, and praised Cummins for his ability to take on different roles.”It’s obviously been a tough season so far for Shami,” Vettori said. “But he’s been working exceptionally hard in the background. We just saw, particularly on this Hyderabad wicket that’s the best make up of the team for us.”If you look at his overall performance, he’s been able to be a wicket-taker. He’s bowled [in] a number of different roles for us. He’s been able to mix and match depending on who’s selected in the team.”Today, I think was the first [second*] time he took the first over and you can see why he’s such a dominant Test-match bowler when he gets the opportunity. Pleasing for him to be able to turn up today and bowl so well and lead the team exceptionally well. Hopefully, that carries onto the last three games of the season.”

– Este ano foi melhor ainda do que no ano passado. Consegui coroar com um título e, sem dúvida, isso é bem marcante. Foram 68 jogos no ano, tendo uma regularidade boa, como venho buscando, sendo uma peça importante para a equipe, conquistar o quarto título da carreira, décimo do clube. Desfrutando um ano no qual valoriza, inclusive, a renovação de seu contrato com o Palmeiras até 2021. E sem ressaltar demais o seu esforço na assistência para Deyverson fazer 1 a 0 diante do Vasco, assegurando o título brasileiro no último dia 25.

– Fiz todo o esforço, mas nunca imaginei que iria me machucar e nem quero sair como herói. Estiquei a perna ao máximo e foi um belo passe, realmente, para concretizar o gol do título. Infelizmente, logo que apoiei o pé no chão, tive a torção e a lesão. Paciência. No dia em que recebi a notícia, não tem como, chorei, fiquei triste. Porém, tem de lembrar também das coisas boas. Foi um ano maravilhoso: campeão brasileiro, renovei contrato… – comentou.

Although this has been a summer most will want to forget, it has been a decent one for Derbyshire and their followers. The sun has been obscured by rain clouds but this “unfashionable” county have basked in the warm glow of County Championship success.It has been 13 seasons since Derbyshire sat down at domestic cricket’s top table but they showed why they went into this contest with a 25 point lead in Division Two. Until that is, Yorkshire and Steve Harmison came roaring back in the final sessionHarmison had endured another chastening day on his second appearance for Yorkshire who had collapsed in startling fashion on a pitch that is a decent one to bat. Harmison swung the bat breezily to help his new team-mates to a batting point but when he ran in from the Lake End with the ball in his hand, the radar was clearly not functioning.His fourth ball was a wide and there was one more before his opening over ended. There was another in his next as the ball shot away down to the leg side to the boundary and when Jaques took him out of the firing line, he had bowled five wides and two no balls in three overs which cost 27. The fact that Derbyshire’s bowlers did not concede a wide or a no ball between them made it even worse.But how quickly the tide of fortune can turn in this game and he responded in the best possible fashion when Phil Jaques brought him back in the 27th over. It proved an inspired piece of captaincy as he took 3 for 0 in 11 balls although it has to be said, Derbyshire gave Harmison generous assistance.First Jon Clare was tempted into a rash drive at a ball he should have left alone and then in his next over, Wes Durston chased one he should have ignored and edged to second slip. It was hardly vintage stuff but after all his recent problems, Harmison will not mind how the wickets come.As Yorkshire opener Joe Root said: “They might not have been the most pleasing-on-the-eye balls that got the wickets but the pace he was bowling at obviously put a lot of doubt in the batsmen’s minds.
