– Conheço há muitos anos e me sinto muito à vontade com o Barroca.

Assim, Marcinho finalizou a entrevista exclusiva concedida ao LANCE!, nesta semana, às vésperas da estreia de Eduardo Barroca pelos profissionais do Botafogo e do clube no Campeonato Brasileiro, diante do São Paulo, neste sábado (16h), no Morumbi. Titular e já vencedor com o treinador nos tempos de base, o lateral-direito respira otimismo para a temporada.

– Ficamos muito feliz com a chegada do Barroca. Foi um baque para a gente. Querendo ou não, no futebol, há quase três anos que trabalhamos juntos, e ele veio com novos trabalhos, coisas novas e nos surpreendeu nesse sentido. Os treinos têm sido muito bons, bem intensos, como eram na base, e a expectativa é a melhor possível.

Aos 22 anos, Marcinho foi titular no título brasileiro sub-20 em 2016, quando o Botafogo de Barroca superou o Corinthians em Itaquera. Para o defensor, não bastasse o fato de muitos jovens do atual elenco já conhecerem o técnico, a mudança de comando é um fator que “motiva mais”. E ele não se esquivou: houve uma reunião do grupo em tom de cobrança após a queda na Copa do Brasil, que culminou na demissão de Zé Ricardo.

– Sempre que tem uma troca de treinador, o grupo se motiva mais, pois isso demonstra que tem algo errado, não só com o treinador, que geralmente é o cara crucificado. Todos têm que se motivar e tirar força de onde não existe. É uma fase difícil, mas também os recomeços são importantes, porque é na crise que você cresce e aprende. Agora é renovar as energias para evoluir.

– Teve uma reunião, sim, era necessário acontecer. A eliminação (na Copa do Brasil) era algo que não esperávamos. Fizemos um excelente jogo aqui contra o Juventude, mas, infelizmente, as coisas não aconteceram lá para a gente, futebol é assim. Porém sentimos que era momento de mudar, tudo estava errado, não podíamos ser eliminados da forma que aconteceu, com o treinador sendo demitido, ainda mais sendo um treinador que abraçava muito o grupo, um excelente profissional, e então vimos que tínhamos que mudar e, como falei, aproveitar um novo recomeço – concluiu.

Por fim, Marcinho, que tem sido muito cobrado em alguns jogos, afirmou que as vaias da torcida não interferem em nada o seu desempenho e explicou o seu principal método para não se desvirtuar em campo: sessões semanais de coaching com o profissional Lulinha Tavares.

– Estou muito feliz (com o rendimento). Essa questão de torcida (vaias) não vai me influenciar, nunca me influenciou, trabalho todo dia aqui (Nilton Santos), então, isso para mim, pouco importa – disse o camisa 4, completando:

– Como sempre falo do meu coach Lulinha Tavares, tem que ter pensamentos positivos, acreditar no que você faz, se você não acreditar em você mesmo, as coisas não vão andar. Ninguém vai te convencer de que você é bom. Tenho a cabeça boa, confiança no que faço. Não cheguei aqui à toa. As coisas caminham para mim, é uma soma de trabalho, dedicação e concentração, e eu me sinto à vontade e feliz com o que estou fazendo no Botafogo.

– Para mim, a avaliação é muito mais do que positiva. Voltei de uma lesão após dez meses (no joelho), passei a jogar (como titular, com Alberto Valentim), fui campeão do Carioca, joguei o Brasileiro quase que inteiro, meus números de assistências foram muitos bons, assim como os defensivos. Os números provam o quanto foi positivo e vem sendo esse meu período como titular aqui.

On another rain-affected day in Hobart the Victorians batted through until stumps, having started the day on 3 for 119, and at the close of play Wade was still at the crease on 107 alongside Daniel Christian on 17.It was Wade’s first century in the longer format since being dropped from the Test side and he has the chance to go on and turn it into his highest first-class score on the third day. Earlier, Rob Quiney added 25 to his overnight score before he was bowled by Xavier Doherty for 82 and the nightwatchman Scott Boland compiled 51 from 212 deliveries.

Na quarta-feira, os times de Abel Braga e Fernando Diniz se enfrentarão pela terceira vez em 41 dias e, desta vez, o clássico vale vaga na decisão da Taça Rio. Flamengo e Fluminense já são, historicamente, “adversários íntimos” e, para o próximo clássico no Maracanã, os treinadores podem procurar alternativas a fim de surpreender o rival. Por ter feito a melhor campanha do Grupo B, o Tricolor das Laranjeiras entrará na semifinal com a vantagem do empate.

Depois de um jogo com os titulares e outro praticamente só de reservas, Diniz deve ter novamente à disposição seus principais jogadores. Nas duas partidas, o Flu contou com uma característica para tentar derrubar o adversário: a luta até o final. Se no primeiro jogo isso resultou no gol de Luciano nos acréscimos, no último encontro foram dois gols na parte final do confronto para colocar mais emoção no duelo.

O “fato diferente”, portanto, pode ter ligação com alguns jogadores chamando a responsabilidade e, com isso, fazendo valer a raça ao invés do talento rubro-negro. A utilização de Everaldo e Luciano, que vivem boa fase, pode novamente ser importante, mas o principal nome é Paulo Henrique Ganso, que ficou sumido no domingo, mas pode fazer a diferença.

A equipe a ser mandada a campo por Abel Braga ainda é uma incógnita. A presença dos titulares passará pela avaliação médica dos atletas, que disputaram o clássico no último domingo e, na próxima semana, fazem o terceiro jogo da fase de grupos da Libertadores. Valendo a liderança do Grupo D, o Flamengo recebe o Peñarol, do Uruguai, no Maracanã no dia 3 de abril.

Assim, o Flamengo pode atuar com uma equipe alternativa. Se não deve contar com os estrangeiros convocados – apenas Arrascaeta, que retorna da China nesta terça, terá a participação avaliada -, Abel pode ter os “reforços” de Vitinho e Rhodolfo. Chanaka Welegedara is in doubt for the Champions Trophy after sustaining a foot injury during Rest of Sri Lanka’s List A match against Sri Lanka A on Friday. Welegedara bowled only 2.4 overs, before leaving the field with pain in his right foot and ankle. Sri Lanka leave for England on May 26, and are scheduled to play their first warm-up match on May 30 against Pakistan.”Welegedara came off immediately and is currently unable to put any weight on his right foot,” a Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) release said. “He is getting scans over the weekend and will have the results by Monday. He will not take part in the final of the SLC President’s trophy, to be played on Monday.”Welegedara, 32, had been the leader of Sri Lanka’s Test-match pace attack, but has been plagued by injury in the last 12 months, in which he only completed one Test match. He strained his groin playing England in March last year, before tearing a shoulder muscle before the Pakistan series in July. He recovered in time to travel to Australia at year’s end, but tore a hamstring early in the second Test in Melbourne, and has not played any international cricket since. Largely regarded a Test specialist, Welegedara had not played limited-overs international cricket since June 2010.He is one of four specialist fast bowlers named in the 15-man squad for the Champions Trophy, with Lasith Malinga, Shaminda Eranga and Nuwan Kulasekara also picked. Farveez Maharoof, who is not in the national squad but may have been a potential replacement, was also injured during the match and will likely be unavailable for two weeks.

Zé Ricardo também foi questionado sobre o sistema defensivo em si do Botafogo. O treinador destacou que planeja com os pés no chão:

– A gente trabalha com um planejamento bem pés no chão, porque o Botafogo quer honrar com todos os seus compromissos. Acho que é trabalho que a gente precisa. O sistema defensivo é toda uma engrenagem. Sofremos gol numa bola muito bem batida, e o Bruno subiu muito bem. Foi um bate e rebate no segundo gol, a bola até bateu de forma involuntária no braço do Everton, e o Bruno Henrique fez o gol.

Grant Stewart made 56 and Harry Finch 52 but their 101-run partnership was broken in the second over of the morning session. Blake Cullen had Middlesex’s best figures with 4 for 60, while Ryan Higgins took 3 for 37.Kent were still 50 in arrears at the start of Day 2 but after passing 50 in the first over, Stewart swished Ryan Higgins to Zafar at midwicket. Finch punched Roland-Jones through the covers to bring up his 50 but Higgins pinned him lbw in the next over.Jas Singh and Kashif Ali almost got Kent to parity, until an eventful 83rd over. Kashif was on 16 when he hooked Cullen, but Brookes reacted a split second too slowly and the chance went down. If the quarter-final had been a league game, we would have been set for a dull fourth and final day with Saurashtra looking to bat out time. Instead, the additional day in the knock-outs has led both captains to call the game “still open” though Saurashta have gained a 73-run first-innings advantage, thanks again to their spinners who have taken the majority of the wickets for them this season.Karnataka’s Manish Pandey finally broke his century drought with a stylish, attacking hundred, but when you are looking to overhaul 469 you need more than one batsman to score big. Both openers Robin Uthappa and KL Rahul promised much, but neither could go on to really hurt Saurashtra.Uthappa made his ninth score above 40 this Ranji season, but is still searching for his second hundred of the campaign. He began with three crisply off-driven boundaries in one Chirag Jani over and Saurashtra looked to tie him down by getting the spinners to bowl at his pads and keeping three men close in on the leg-side. He avoided that trap and confidently progressed to 60 off 65 deliveries before he gloved a Jaidev Unadkat delivery that kicked up from a length to the keeper.Rahul had been subdued when Uthappa was finding the rope, but he too showed off some of his shots after the first wicket. His initial few boundaries came mainly on the off side, but he also played several sweeps off the spinners to move to his half-century. He gave it away soon after, though, as he chipped a pitched-up delivery to mid-on. He knew it was a bad mistake, shaking his head much of the way to the dressing room.The season’s highest run-getter CM Gautam, who has been Karnataka’s rock this season, was promoted to No. 4, ahead of Pandey. His attacking mindset was highlighted by his running between the wickets as he pushed his partners for the extra run – one of his late cuts even fetched him a rare all-run four.The one serious moment of trouble early in his innings came when he was on 24, bowler Kamlesh Makvana seemed to have palmed the ball onto the stumps and the third umpire was needed to decide whether he was back in his crease. The other genuine chance came only when he was in his 130s, when a loft to long-off was pouched by the fielder Aarpit Vasavada, who stepped over the rope as he completed the catch.There were supporting cameos from Amit Verma and Abhimanyu Mithun to help Pandey prevent Karnataka from slipping to a hopeless situation. The trio of spinners -Makvana, Dharmendrasingh Jadeja and Vishal Joshi – didn’t get any sharp turn from the wicket, but bowled accurately to beat the bat several times, prompting plenty of appeals either for caught-behind or bat-pad. Verma, who has struggled for form this time, survived an over with four appeals from Jadeja. After some initial patience, he whacked Jadeja for a six and a four over midwicket before nicking a catch to the keeper in the same over.That 80-run stand had still just helped Karnataka avoid the follow-on, and their only specialist batsman remaining was Pandey. K Gowtham perished to the first of two athletic low catches at long-on, but Mithun proved more difficult to dislodge. He was initially content to work the ball off his pads towards fine leg but showed his growing confidence by punching Undakat down the ground for four. With the partnership swelling to 80 despite umpteen appeals – Jadeja had his heads on his head in frustration plenty of times in the final session – and Saurashtra’s lead dwindling to double-digits, there was an outside chance of Karnataka taking the first-innings honours.Jadeja, who played a starring role in his debut game last week to help Saurashtra qualify, delivered again late in the day, first trapping Mithun lbw and then knocking over KP Appanna’s off stump. With the last man in, Pandey had to go for his shots and he holed out to Unadkat at long-on, to spark joyous celebrations from the Saurashtra camp. The odd ball is bouncing unpredictably and the pitch is expected to wear significantly over the next two days, which means Saurashtra still have work to do to book their semi-final spot.

Yorkshire had victory snatched from their grasp by Sussex off the last ball in a thrilling finish to the Clydesdale Bank 40 contest at Headingley which the visitors won by three wickets under the Duckworth-Lewis system.Defeat for Yorkshire in the 28-over game ended their hopes of making it through to the semi-finals whereas Sussex remain top of the Group C table.The visitors chased down a revised target of 207 after Yorkshire had knocked up 200 for 8 and they still required 16 with three wickets in hand off the last over which was bowled by offspinner Azeem Rafiq.The game swung dramatically their way as Amjad Khan lashed the first delivery for six and the next for four. Two were needed off the final delivery and Khan got them by managing to squeeze the ball through backward point.It was tough luck on Rafiq and fellow spinner, Adil Rashid, who had bowled splendidly together when Sussex were 156 for 4, needing 51 off six overs. The pair conceded only five apiece off the next two overs, Rafiq also bowling Joe Gatting, and he later dismissed Mike Yardy, leaving Sussex wanting 35 from 14 balls, their position improving through a six from Ben Brown.Brown fell to Tim Bresnan to make it 185 for 7 and Yorkshire were still firm favourites until Khan’s late onslaught, Sussex earlier having been well served with half-centuries from Chris Nash and Ed Joyce.Put in to bat, Yorkshire made 14 off the first four overs before rain caused a lengthy delay and on the resumption skipper Andrew Gale and Phil Jaques were eager to make up for lost time. They had advanced the score to 33 by the eighth over when Jaques was bowled making room to try and cut a yorker from Chris Liddle but the tempo increased still further with the arrival of Joe Root.He powered to 13 with three boundaries off the first four balls he faced while Gale launched himself at Monty Panesar with two big sixes over long on. The second wicket pair raced their stand to 50 off 34 balls and it had galloped on to 75 in 10 overs when Gale was caught on the boundary edge off Luke Wright for 43 from 55 deliveries with three fours and two sixes.A return catch to Nash ended Root’s spree on 41 from 26 balls with four fours and a six but Adam Lyth and Bresnan made sure that Yorkshire’s progress was maintained, Lyth making a bright 19 and Bresnan including a front foot cover drive for six off Khan and two consecutive boundaries off Yardy who pinned him lbw for 27 with his next delivery. Sussex employed seven bowlers, the most successful being Liddle with three for 44.

Enquanto tenta resolver o caso Sánchez junto na Conmebol, José Carlos Peres teve uma derrota na Justiça na tarde desta sexta-feira. Um juiz da 12ª Vara Cível de Santos derrubou a liminar que tratava o andamento do processo de impeachment contra o presidente no Santos. E mais, o processo aberto por Peres foi extinto. Agora, o mesa do Conselho Deliberativo do clube vai trabalhar para acertar a data de uma nova reunião para a votação do impedimento. Algo que deve acontecer no começo de setembro, dia 5 ou 10.

A Comissão de Inquérito e Sindicância do clube foi quem conseguiu derrubar a liminar do presidente. Havia uma votação prévia marcada para o dia 30 de agosto, mas o assunto não entrará em pauta nesta reunião dos conselheiros. Quando conseguiu a liminar, Peres alegou que não teve o direito a ampla defesa pois não conseguiu ter acesso aos detalhes das acusações. A informação foi inicialmente publicada pelo jornal A Tribuna.

São dois pedidos de impedimento que correm no clube. Um encabeçado pelo conselheiro nato Esmeraldo Tarquínio e outro por Alexandre Santos e Silva. Ambos foram entregues a Marcelo Teixeira, presidente do Conselho, no mês passado. Ambos foram protocolados em junho.

Politicamente, a situação de Peres no clube não é favorável. O dirigente não tem o apoio nem de seu vice, Orlando Rollo, que declarou ao LANCE! estar rompido com o mandatário. Na visão de Peres e sua defesa, os pedidos de impeachment são meramente políticos e possíveis de serem derrubados pela própria defesa.

Entenda a questão
De maneira simplificada, os questionamentos dos conselheiros se baseiam nas duas empresas ligadas a Peres, a Saga Talent Sports & Marking e a Peres Sports & Marketing.
