Majoritariamente, prevalece a decisão dele.

Gers fans livid at Dornan update

Glasgow Rangers fans are livid following the latest development involving Scottish National Party politician James Dornan.

May 15th was a fantastic day for Rangers fans and players. The Gers beat Aberdeen on the final day of the season, meaning they went the whole of the Premiership campaign unbeaten (thefishy.co.uk), while they also received the trophy at Ibrox.

As such, thousands of supporters took to the streets to celebrate while the players enjoyed themselves at the ground.

The aftermath of that day, though, was far from positive. 20 arrests were at George Square (firstpost.com), and Police Scotland continued their investigation into the ugly scenes in the following weeks (The Daily Record), while the Gers players were accused of singing anti-Catholic songs – that was quickly debunked (The Athletic).

Despite Police Scotland finding the squad innocent, though, Dornan remained sceptical, even writing a letter asking for more information. Police Scotland have responded, saying the video that circulated was in fact edited to include anti-Catholic language.

The letter was shared on Twitter by @RFC_Falkirk, and it attracted plenty of attention from the supporters. They took to the social media platform to share their thoughts.

Let’s see what the Rangers fans had to say below

“Report him for slander and wasting police time he doesn’t have parliamentary privilege, hes a waste of energy yes but he is in a dangerous position to be doing so”

“I’d prefer he was bankrupted in court”

“Embarrassing, majority of the squad are Catholics..”

“Interviewed people, obtained video footage and had it forensically examined. What an utter waste of time and money of a video that’s clearly a fake. Dornan should also be apologising for wasting Police Scotland’s time”

“Why aren’t Police Scotland trying to find out who posted the offensive video in the first place? This absolutely stinks. Disgusting what the staff & players had to go through. Hope the club take Yousaf et al to the cleaners.”

“Easier to lock his account and continue to spread hateful agenda than take responsibility for his actions He knew what he was doing, knew the damage for our club but done it anyway Accountability isn’t in his remit A coward”

Exciting finish as Hampshire defeat Loughborough in last over

This game may not have been attributed first-class status, but it had many of the qualities of an old-fashioned three-day game. Three declarations, plenty of runs and a successful run chase that concluded in the final over of the `last 20′ saw Hampshire defeat Loughborough UCCE at the Rose Bowl by three wickets.Resuming at 81-4, it looked unlikely that Loughborough would set Hampshire over 300 to win with little batting left and one of their key men, John Francis, injured. However, Chris Nash had other ideas. He struck 70 from 78 balls, and with support from Richard Wilkinson (36) pushed the lead to 308 when skipper Mark Powell declared at lunch. This was not before James Tomlinson had furthered his first team hopes with 4-66.Losing Derek Kenway early, Jason Laney and Giles White batted tidily, adding 139 for the second wicket before the former fell two short of a well-deserved century (144 balls, 13 fours, 1 six). White and Alex Morris fell in quick succession to make Hampshire’s task unlikely. However, a swashbuckling 39-ball 49 from James Hamblin, which included a huge six over the tents, he and skipper Will Kendall reduced the run-rate required and the target to a manageable level.Kendall, running 12 sets of twos as well as striking five fours was dismissed for 62 (69 balls), but not before he pulled up with a slight recurrence of the side strain which hampered his involvement in the game earlier, attempting a full off David Wigley.Nic Pothas, though, eased the home side home with four balls remaining; Ian Hilsum hitting the winning single. This may not have been first-class by status, but the game itself certainly was in entertainment and good cricket.

Fry claims West Ham won’t sell Rice for £125 million - Exclusive

West Ham fans will be concerned about Declan Rice’s future this summer given that he really stepped up in the last 12 months and looks set to start for England at the European Championships, however Barry Fry does not believe that the club will sell their star midfielder.

Rice had a fantastic season playing every minute of every game he was available for in the Premier League, which saw him earn a nomination for young player of the year. The prize was ultimately won by Phil Foden who only started 17 league games.

The now England regular has seen himself linked with a move to Manchester United specifically with reports even suggesting that he had been talking to Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Dean Henderson during international breaks this season about a potential switch to Old Trafford.

Next season is one where West Ham have a solid base and could push on to become regular top-six contenders, and Fry believes that Rice will be part of that squad challenging next season as he spoke exclusively to Football FanCast:

“To be quite honest, knowing David Moyes and knowing the two Davids, Gold and Sullivan, they won’t sell him.

“No matter what comes up, if it’s £100 million or £125 million, they won’t sell him. Moyes has done a brilliant job considering last year they were relegation candidates and now they’re getting into Europe so what a turnaround in 12 months.”

Over the last 12 months, Moyes has managed to build a solid spine of a starting lineup with the likes of Craig Dawson, Tomas Soucek, Rice, Jesse Lingard and Michail Antonio so it would be a huge blow for Hammers fans to lose Rice this summer as he would be near impossible to replace.

Even before West Ham potentially lose Rice, Moyes will know that he must improve his squad and not just the starting lineup, otherwise, they will struggle to cope with the added Europa League games.

Tottenham keen on Gabriel Jesus

According to a report by the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur are keen on Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus.

The Lowdown: Spurs and the Kane saga…

Sky Sports shared big news of star striker Harry Kane’s desire to leave Tottenham last month, leading to no shortage of transfer rumours.

Amid the coronavirus pandemic and financial uncertainty that comes with it, swap deals to lower prices have been touted through the media.

Among Kane’s plethora of admirers are Premier League champions Manchester City, but the Sky Blues would face a fight to sign him this summer.

Some reports even claim that Spurs chief Daniel Levy could demand close to £200 million (Eurosport).

The Latest: Spurs keen on Jesus…

Proposing players who could make way to north London in a possible exchange for Kane, the Mail say Levy and co are ‘keen’ admirers of striker Jesus.

[web_stories_embed url=”https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/web-stories/spurs-latest-news/” title=”Spurs latest news!” poster=”” width=”360″ height=”600″ align=”none”]

Indeed, one City player could head to Tottenham as part of a swap deal and the Brazilian is certainly a candidate.

It is believed that Jesus is ‘unimpressed’ with his lack of game time under manager Pep Guardiola, but whether he would entertain a move to Spurs is, for now, ‘unclear’.

City, however, will have to shift players out to fund expensive swoops for both Kane and Aston Villa star Jack Grealish.

The Verdict: Could do far worse…

Contrary to his perceived lack of game time, Jesus still managed to rack up 22 Premier League starts over 2020/2021 – scoring nine goals and assisting four others (WhoScored).

In all competitions, the attacker totalled 42 appearances whilst bagging 14 goals (Transfermarkt) – drawing praise for his tenacious and energetic playing style.

Guardiola, speaking to Manchester City’s official website back in March, hailed him as an unsung hero for the Sky Blues and described what he does for the team as ‘amazing’ and ‘brilliant’.

Brazilian footballing legend Dani Alves dropped a pretty big claim during the early rise of Jesus back in 2017, insisting to reporters back then he was ‘the new Ronaldo’ and will ‘get even better’ (The Daily Mail).

Having already scored 103 career goals in total across his spells at both City and Palmeiras, Spurs could do a lot worse than Jesus plus cash if Kane is certain to leave.

Chapple shines as Lancashire dominate against Somerset

Glen Chapple bustled out Somerset’s middle-order to take 6-46 as Lancashireenjoyed the better of exchanges after winning the toss on a cold, but clearopening day at Taunton.Having bowled out the home side for a modest 204, the visitors replied with114-3, losing Mark Chilton to the final delivery of the day for a solid 53.That full-length ball from Richard Johnson, which smashed Chilton full onthe boot, gave the former Middlesex seamer his second Somerset wicket andbacked up the county’s hopes that he can fill tbe centrally contracted AndyCaddick’s boots this season.Johnson ended the day with 2-36 from 13.5 overs. His efforts, allied tothose of Championship debutant Joe Tucker, Steffan Jones and Graham Rose, suggested it will be no easy ride for Lancashire to establish a commandingfirst innings advantage on a pitch offering the pace bowlers plenty ofencouragement.Chapple exploited it perfectly with good variation of pace and perfectlength to take 5-28 from 7.5 overs after lunch, bowling from the River End.Skipper Jamie Cox had earlier done his best to guide Somerset out oftrouble, driving exquisitely both straight and through the covers, to make66 in confident style. But once he departed to leave the total 120-4 Chapple ripped into top gearand soon the scoreboard read 158-8. Somerset were then indebted to some lateorder belligerence from Johnson and Steffan Jones to scramble them to asolitary batting point.Ryan Driver and John Crawley both fell cheaply, despite a cautious approach, when Lancashire replied, while Chilton needed a life on 17, dropped by KeithDutch diving to his right at third slip off Jones. The opener profited toreach his half-century off 114 balls, with 10 fours.
