Liverpool: Salah deemed ‘not happy’ at Anfield %%page%% %%sep%% %%sitename%%

Many Liverpool fans reacted in astonishment after it was claimed that Mohamed Salah is “not happy” at Anfield.

The 28-year-old has been at the club since 2017 after his £34m move from Roma and has been a sensation during that time, finding the net 110 times in 173 appearances (TransferMarkt).

Salah’s former teammate, Mohamed Aboutrika, told the Mirror (cited by Anfield Watch) that the man dubbed as the “Egyptian King” is not happy at Liverpool but said that he cannot talk about the reasons why in public.

This follows on from what Salah himself told AS, stating that his “future is in Liverpool’s hands” where he refused to rule out a possible move to either Real Madrid or Barcelona in the future.

Because of this, supporters were gravely concerned about the situation, with one fan suggesting that the situation is remarkably similar to when Philippe Coutinho exited.

Salah unhappy?

Southampton should look to phase Nathan Redmond out following Everton display

Morale in the Southampton camp will be through the roof after they caused a major upset to Premier League leaders Everton on Sunday. The Blues were hoping to return to winning ways after drawing against Liverpool in the Merseyside derby, but the Saints had other ideas.

Goals from James Ward-Prowse and Che Adams brushed aside the table-toppers, who were without key players Richarlison and Seamus Coleman. It’ll be back to the drawing board for Carlo Ancelotti, whilst Ralph Hasenhuttl will hope to recreate a similar display against Aston Villa next.

However, one area of concern that the Austrian must address is the progressively weakened performances from Nathan Redmond, described as “important” by his manager back in July. Despite earning Man of the Match by Sky Sports, the England international was definitely more than a little fortunate to get it.

Hasenhuttl must decide what to do with Redmond

The winger found the back of the net eight times in his 2016/17 campaign with the Saints, which was a good return for the club’s eighth place finish. But since then, Redmond has declined and has struggled to contribute from the wing.

This season, the £16.2million-rated forward is still yet to open up his account. He has made five appearances across all competitions so far, but was dropped from the squad completely for Southampton’s game against Spurs and Burnley in the Premier League (via Transfermarkt).

According to Sofascore, Redmond failed to register a single shot on target against Everton and lost 14 of his 24 attempted duels. Additionally, he was dribbled past an alarming six times and committed three fouls. If the 26-year-old is this clumsy in possession when it comes to facing more attacking teams, he could seriously put his side at risk of conceding.

Redmond’s competition in Moussa Djenepo is currently sidelined due to a thigh injury. If the 22-year-old was fit and firing, there would likely be a lot more doubt over which of the two would start in Hasenhuttl’s lineup. On current performances, Redmond will be dropped to the bench and limited to substitute appearances at most.

However, after four years with the club, it could be time for the boss to move him on whilst he is still young enough to make first team football.

Everton: Michael Brown questions Moise Kean after PSG move

Michael Brown has questioned the fitness of Moise Kean after his loan move to PSG was finalised in the summer transfer window.

Speaking to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Leeds midfielder also claimed that the Italy international needs to play regular first-team football this season. He said:

“It’s difficult, he never looks mega fit.

“For me, what would do him great, wherever it was, would be to play 40 games, I think it would.

“I think it really would do him good, if you can ever think of a player who needs to play, it would be him for me. Just to continue to play ever week, a place where he’s just picked and he’s playing but it’s not always that simple.

“That’s what he’s crying out for, for me.”

Kean struggling at Everton

Indeed, Kean has struggled during his time at the Merseyside club so far, as the 20-year old has only managed to score four goals and provide two assists in 37 games in all competitions for the Goodison Park side, as per Transfermarkt.

With the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison as options up front for Carlo Ancelotti at the moment, Kean fell down the pecking order, and so a move away from the Toffees would have perhaps been best for all parties for the rest of the season.

Will Kean get game-time at PSG?

As Brown quite rightly points out, Kean needs to play matches this term to try and prove himself to the Toffees.

However, with the likes of Angel Di Maria, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar as options in the forward line for this year’s Champions League finalists, one may question just how much game-time the on-loan Everton man will actually get.

Kean fighting for his Everton future

Kean will surely now have to perform on the big stage if he is to have a future at the Blues, or else he may be a player that EFC look to offload in next summer’s transfer window.

Adam Forshaw’s Leeds United role is up in the air ahead of potential Cuisance arrival

£18 million. That’s how much Leeds United will be paying to make Michael Cuisance their newest summer signing if a deal comes to fruition.

It seems to be just a matter of time before the Bayern Munich man is announced as a Leeds player, and while it’s incredibly exciting to see such a highly-rated young midfielder sign for the Yorkshire outfit, it does leave a number of questions around Adam Forshaw’s future.

The 28-year-old hasn’t played much football over the past 12 months, with an injury keeping him out of action since United’s game against Charlton last October.

Forshaw is undoubtedly a Bielsa favourite, with the Argentine saying that he defends in a similar manner to Kalvin Phillips and attacks in a similar way to Mateusz Klich, and when you consider that those two have started every Premier League game so far, that is high praise.

However, with Forshaw still out with injury and Cuisance coming in, it’s hard to see how he gets back into the first-team picture.

Klich and Phillips are nigh on undroppable, with Klich starting all-but-one of Leeds’ league games since Bielsa took charge, while Phillips is arguably United’s best player, earning an England call-up before he even made his Premier League debut.

Of course, there is a third midfield role that is usually taken up by a more attacking player with Rodrigo, Pablo Hernandez and Tyler Roberts all playing that role in recent weeks, but there is sufficient strength in depth in that role to the point where Forshaw isn’t really an option.

A lot has changed at Elland Road since Forshaw went down injured, including new recruits coming in and taking his spot. Now, the 28-year-old is in something of a no man’s land at Leeds where he is a depth option in a position that doesn’t really get rotated all that much.

Tottenham Hotspur: Spurs reach agreement with Saints for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Kyle Walker-Peters

Tottenham Hotspur are ‘on the brink’ of reaching an agreement to sign Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton, with Kyle Walker-Peters poised to move in the opposite direction, reports say.

Jose Mourinho is close to making the 33-cap Denmark international his first summer signing after Spurs made a breakthrough during negotiations with the Saints.

According to The Telegraph, as relayed by @Daily_Hotspur, the Dane is on the verge of joining the Lilywhites for £15m.

While recent reports revealed Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side had accepted a bid from Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton, amid interest from three unnamed European clubs, Hojbjerg has been heavily tipped to move to north London in the summer.

The 24-year-old has insisted he would prefer to move to Spurs and is biding his time until a deal can be done.

Kyle Walker-Peters, who spent the second-half of last season on loan at St Mary’s, is set to stay with the Saints in a separate deal worth £12m.

Hasenhuttl wanted to wrap up a deal for the 23-year-old as soon as possible, as the Lilywhites had been trying to get rid of the right-back to raise some much-needed funds, amid interest from several Premier League clubs.

It seems the Saints boss is close to getting his wish as Mourinho has made it clear he is considered surplus to requirements.

The Portuguese could find himself short of options as Serge Aurier appears destined for the exit but he is prepared to look elsewhere.

While it is worth pointing out the two potential transfers are being treated entirely separately, the board’s decision to send the academy product to the South Coast seems to have paid off.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is a shrewd negotiator in the transfer window and was determined to drive down Southampton’s asking price for their former captain (Sky Sports). The Saints were originally holding out for £35m for Hojbjerg but it seems both clubs have struck a bargain deal in a big blow for Everton.

Tottenham fans, do you think Levy should sign Hojbjerg and sell Walker-Peters? Let us know down below!

Celtic fans discuss Mohamed Elyounoussi future

Celtic fans have been discussing the future of loan winger Mohamed Elyounoussi this week as he edges ever closer to the end of his temporary spell at the club.

The 25-year-old joined the Bhoys on a season-long loan at the start of the season from Premier League outfit Southampton but has found regular game time rather hard to come by this term.

Elyounoussi has managed only 1,309 minutes from 20 appearances, but has directly contributed to 13 goals across both domestic and European competitions, so he’s not been a complete dud.

Rated at £8.55m by Transfermarkt, it remains to be seen if the Norweigan wide man will be available for a permanent switch ahead of the new season – whenever that may be – though, it hasn’t stopped many of the Celtic faithful from debating whether or not Neil Lennon should try and keep hold of him.

Wolves predicted line up against Besiktas in the Europa League

Wolverhampton Wanderers return to Europa League action tonight as they host Besiktas at Molineux in the final group game of this campaign.

The tie can pretty much be regarded as a dead-rubber because the west Midlanders have already qualified for the knockout stages while the Turkish outfit cannot progress regardless of any possible outcome.

Besiktas boss Abdullah Avci is set to rest several of his key players according to beIN SPORTS Turkey, but will Nuno Santo follow suit?

He’ll need to better SC Braga’s result to top the group, but there’s no guaranteeing that the Portuguese outfit field a weaker team either.

Wolves defeated the Black Eagles 1-0 to opened their Group K proceedings back in October.

Here’s how they may line up this time around:

As Football FanCast have already revealed this week, it would be a rather wise move for Nuno to rest some of his key players given just how many games they have played and will eventually play this season.

Only Romain Saiss could keep his place amongst the starting line up with ten changes expected, three of which are young prospects from the academy.

Oskar Burr, a right wing-back, Taylor Perry and Chem Campbell are all handed starts in place of Matt Doherty, Joao Moutinho and Adama Traore, who are all in need of rest having played 22 or more matches already this campaign.

The other seven changes are all either fringe first-team players or have recently been out injured meaning skipper Conor Coady is handed a break, so the back three is likely to be Max Kilman, Jesus Vallejo and Ryan Bennett. They’ll be in front of John Ruddy rather than Rui Patricio.

Perry and Saiss partner each other in central midfield while Pedro Neto is handed a rare start next to Campbell and West Ham hero Patrick Cutrone in the attack.

What do you really know about the Premier League’s greatest managers? Find out below…

Meanwhile, another emerging talent at the club has been impressing out on loan this season…
