Kim Littlejohn is confident his key advisors – the major association coaches – will be objective enough to make New Zealand’s new selection system work. Littlejohn began his new role as national selection manager this week, having relocated from Melbourne, where he was the high-performance manager with Bowls Australia.His appointment was part of a radical new direction for New Zealand under the director of cricket John Buchanan, who wanted to professionalise the selection process. Under the new system, Littlejohn and the head coach John Wright will form a two-man selection panel, with Wright to have the casting vote when choosing the final XI for a match.Littlejohn will be limited in the amount of cricket he will be able to watch live but a key part of the system involves him taking feedback from the six major association coaches. And while the more players a provincial side delivers to the Black Caps, the better that coach will look, Littlejohn dismissed any concern they would simply push their own men.”I’m very confident [it will work],” Littlejohn said. “In some cases you’d obviously expect the major association coaches to put forward their players but I think there are some checks and balances in the system, where it’s not just one coach’s view, we’re looking at the views of six coaches on a particular player. That will make sure we get a good open and honest opinion on any particular player that we might be looking at.”Buchanan said by streamlining the selection process, there should be greater communication and feedback, which sometimes wasn’t the case with traditional selection panels. The changes have also continued his approach of placing more accountability on coaches – hence Wright taking such an important role in choosing the team and the provincial coaches being included.”From a selection point of view, three or four or sometimes five selectors are involved in and around a cricket team and I think that provides many a time miscommunication and poor feedback to players and coaches,” Buchanan said. “The key people who understand where individual cricket athletes are at are our coaches, so they become pretty integral.”All the same, Littlejohn said he would be aiming to watch “a reasonable amount” of domestic cricket this summer. He spent his first few days on the job at New Zealand’s training camp in Christchurch, which helped him familiarise himself with the squad.”It’s given me the opportunity to get to know the players and put faces to names,” he said. “My understanding of the players is a little limited in the sense that it’s just been what I’ve been able to watch from Australia on television and read in the press, but I’ve done a lot of research over the last few weeks to get up to speed.”

انهارت المفاوضات بين فريقي، برشلونة الإسباني وفيورنتينا الإيطالي، لانتقال الدولي المغربي سفيان أمرابط إلى النادي الكتالوني، في سوق الانتقالات الشتوي الحالي، وفقا لصحيفة موندو ديبورتيفو.

كان برشلونة قد عرض التعاقد مع أمرابط على سبيل الإعارة مقابل 3-4 ملايين يورو، مع وجود خيار شراء يقدر بـ40 مليون يورو لكنه ليس إلزاميا، وقد تم رفض العرض من قبل النادي الإيطالي، بحسب الصحفي فابريزيو رومانو.

وحاول أمرابط بكل قوة وضغط هو ووكيل أعماله على إدارة فيورنتينا للموافقة على رحيله، لكن جاء رد النادي الإيطالي بالرفض، لأن أمرابط يعتبر لاعبًا أساسيا ولن يتم التخلي عنه بسهولة.

وخرج أمرابط من قائمة فيورنتينا لمباراة تورينو في ربع نهائي كأس إيطاليا، والتي من المقرر إقامتها غدًا، وبحسب النادي، فإن اللاعب غير جاهز ذهنيًا لخوض المباراة بعد الأحداث في الساعات الماضية.

ويحاول برشلونة القيام بصفقة في خط الوسط بدلًا من هذه الصفقة بعد انهيارها، لكن وفقًا لموندو فإن الوقت غير كاف للدخول في مفاوضات مع أندية أخرى، أو إقناع أي فريق بالتخلي عن أحد لاعبيه في اللحظات الأخيرة.

O Grêmio estreou com vitória no Campeonato Brasileiro Sub-20. Na tarde desta quarta-feira, o Tricolor gaúcho bateu o Fluminense, em Laranjeiras, de virada, por 3 a 2. Gabriel Capixaba e Dudu fizeram para a equipe carioca, enquanto Da Silva, duas vezes, e Jhonata marcaram para os visitantes.

Jamie Dalrymple’s return to Middlesex has proved short-lived as he and the county have chosen to part ways. Dalrymple had re-signed for Middlesex in May this year and made a steady contribution to their success in Division Two of the County Championship with both bat and ball, but became frustrated by the lack of leadership opportunities with the county and has decided to move on.”I have seen very few cricketers more committed or harder working than Jamie and during his time with Middlesex he set the right example to the rest of the squad,” said Managing Director of Cricket, Angus Fraser. “His leadership experience was valuable too, helping to get a young side over the line when things got a little tight at the end of the season.”However, his passion lies in leadership and man management roles and these are not positions that are currently available at Middlesex. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Jamie for all his input into Middlesex over the course of ten seasons in total and to wish him well for the future whether that is in the game or elsewhere.”Dalrymple’s return to Middlesex had been prompted by his departure from Glamorgan, to whom he had gone after turning down a new contract with Middlesex in late 2007. He was appointed as Glamorgan’s captain for the 2009 season, but after two seasons became a high-profile casualty of a tumultous shake-up at the county. أعرب طارق العشري المدير الفني للفريق الأول لكرة القدم بنادي فاركو، عن سعادته بالفوز على الزمالك بثلاثية نظيفة خلال اللقاء الذي جمع الفريقين ضمن مباريات الجولة السابعة عشر من بطولة الدوري الممتاز.

وقال العشري في المؤتمر الصحفي عقب المباراة: “ثلاث نقاط مهمين جدًا في مشوار الفريق في الدوري أمام فريق بحجم الزمالك”.
