Offspinner Sachithra Senanayake is set to return to the UK, days after he arrived in Sri Lanka, following SLC’s decision to send him to the newly accredited Cardiff Metropolitan University for biomechanical testing of his action. Senanayake was reported for a suspect action during the fourth ODI against England at Lord’s and has to undergo testing within 21 days.”Senanayake will go in for ICC scrutiny at the Cardiff Metropolitan University within the next few days,” SLC CEO Ashley de Silva told the . “We have notified the ICC of our option and they in turn will reserve a date for Senanayake to attend the sessions.”Senanayake will bowl each of his variations, including the doosra, during the tests as he aims to prove his elbow does not flex beyond the permitted 15 degrees. His bowling action in the lab will be compared with footage of his deliveries from recent matches, to ensure he reproduces the action he uses in international cricket. Senanayake was Sri Lanka’s leading wicket-taker in the recently-concluded series, taking nine wickets at 15.11.His action had been cleared by the ICC in 2011, after biomechanical tests at the University of Western Australia had shown he adhered to the limits of the ICC’s Playing Conditions. That round of testing had come after remedial work, which had been prompted by complaints about his action during Sri Lanka A’s tour of England.Cardiff Metropolitan University was revealed as an accredited testing centre on Friday. Malik had scored 49, Tridents were 128 in the 15th over and Smith was cruising along at 71. There was no let off in the remaining 5.1 overs: Smith fired up a late surge adding 58 runs in the period. He reached his second T20 century of the penultimate ball of the innings with a six over midwicket of Sohail Tanvir and celebrated it with another six off the last ball.The innings had started in a similar flourish. Zouks opted to bowl but the first ball, bowled by Roelof van de Merwe, was cut past point for a boundary by Smith. It wasn’t a one off. Smith launched a four and a six over mid-off before cutting one through to the point boundary to make it 18 off the first over. Tanvir struck of his first ball from the other end, but that proved to be their only positive in the next 13.4 overs.Smith and Malik partnered in an 110-run association that set up the foundation for a huge total. The two took their time taking 34 runs in their first six overs and apart from an odd boundary, didn’t look to press on. Smith reached his half-century in the 11th over, off 39 balls. By the time Darren Sammy was dismissed, for a duck, in the 14th over, the chase had gone out of hand. Zouks needed 108 off 42 balls at that stage and although Tanvir and Keddy Lesporis made a valiant effort, their unbeaten 78-run stand fell much short of the target.

O CARA!

Giorgian De Arrascaeta: este foi o nome da vitória do Flamengo sobre o Goiás. Em manhã inspirada, o uruguaio balançou a rede adversária três vezes. E não foi só isso. O camisa 14 do Flamengo participou das outras principais jogadas do Rubro-Negro – como no gol de Bruno Henrique. Com dribles e bons passes, o meia foi quem conseguiu desestabilizar a defesa rival e encontrar espaços.

JESUS SURPREENDE NA ESCALAÇÃO

Sai Cuéllar, fica Willian Arão. Sai Renê, entra Trauco. Sai Vitinho, volta Everton Ribeiro. Jorge Jesus fez mudanças significativas na equipe do Flamengo para enfrentar o Goiás. A saída do volante colombiano foi a principal delas e surpreendeu muitos rubro-negros. Arão, contudo, foi outra vez bem sob o comando do técnico português, que já fez elogios ao contestado camisa 8.

As alterações ocorreram por diferentes motivos. Uma vez recuperado e em condições físicas ideias, era natural que Everton Ribeiro retomasse o lugar entre os titulares.
