ومن المقرر أن يلتقي الزمالك مع فلامبو، يوم الأحد المُقبل الموافق 9 من أكتوبر، في ذهاب دور الـ 32 من المسابقة القارية.

وأسند الاتحاد الإفريقي إدارة المباراة لطاقم تحكيم صومالي، يتكون من حسن محمد حاچي حكما للساحة ويعاونه كل من حمزه حاجي عبدي مساعد أول وسليمان بشير مساعد ثاني وعمر عبد القادر حكم رابع.

In goal, even though Jose Sa has kept eight clean sheets in his 19 Premier League appearances this season, we think Lage will take him out of the team on this occasion and give John Ruddy the chance to play.

With the front three, we can see Lage bringing in Adama Traore and Fabio Silva for Francisco Trincao and Raul Jimenez, who is currently earning £100k-per-week according to Salary Sport but is without a goal in his last six games, in order to freshen up the attack next to Daniel Podence.

What’s the word?

Marcelo Bielsa’s first-choice left-back Junior Firpo has confirmed his availability for the Whites’ second trip to West Ham United in a week on Sunday afternoon.

The 25-year-old was withdrawn early with what appeared to be a concussion during their FA Cup clash last weekend. He had collided with teammate Illan Meslier in the first half and was soon replaced by Cody Dramah after the break.

However, despite the knock, the defender has revealed he has recovered already to BBC Radio Leeds (via LeedsLive). He said:

“I’m good, I’m good. We’ve just followed the protocols about this type of thing (concussion). I’m fit and okay to play on Sunday. Yeah it happened in the [collision with Illan Meslier]. Minutes later I felt a little bit dizzy and in this condition, you cannot play a game in this level because it’s difficult.”

Huge boost

This will come as a huge relief to Marcelo Bielsa and co as the last thing he or anyone at Leeds needs is yet another absentee.

Injuries have been piling up all season and the Yorkshiremen cannot afford to lose another key player, having already been without the likes of skipper Liam Cooper, midfield lynchpin Kalvin Phillips and leading talisman Patrick Bamford.

Bielsa does not really have a back-up at left-back, so Firpo is the only senior option, barring someone like Pascal Struijk – who is also injured – or Stuart Dallas playing out of position there.

After an inconsistent start to life at Elland Road, the former Barcelona man has put in some solid displays, including one against Chelsea, where he thwarted England international Reece James before putting in his best performance of the season against Burnley.

At one point, Bielsa was staring down the barrel of having as many as 11 first-team stars unavailable heading into their second clash against the Irons this week, so to have Firpo fit is certainly positive news.

A surely relieved Bielsa and the fans must be delighted by this update.

Speaking on Cricinfo’s video show , Sangakkara also said every country should have an iconic series like the Ashes to draw spectators to the stadiums.There has been plenty of talk over the decline of Tests, but Sangakkara said it was premature to write the format’s obituary. “Everyone is talking about Test cricket dying. Maybe we are pre-empting its death and trying to kill it before its time,” he said. “When it comes to players, they value playing the five-day version a lot more than they do any other version.”With a lot more money on offer in lucrative Twenty20 leagues such as the IPL, he stated that salaries of Test specialists should be hiked substantially. “Paying a match fee for playing a Test match that is 10% more than for a Twenty20, or a one-day game or 50% more doesn’t cut it,” he said. “Test cricket should be given its premium position by paying a premium amount for players who play only Test cricket sometimes.”Test cricket is packing stadiums only in England and a handful of cities over the world, something which Sangakkara felt could change if there were changes in way television broadcasted the game. “Stop overkill of cricket on television. What’s the story?

The Toffees have made a couple of acquisitions already in this January transfer window, and it now appears that the Merseyside club have got their sights set on a play-maker.

According to a source who spoke to Sport Witness, both Everton and fellow Premier League side West Ham are “interested” in signing Golovin, and that they have already been in contact with the midfielder’s agent about a potential move.

While the Toffees may be enduring a difficult campaign on the pitch under Rafa Benitez this season, a move for Golovin would certainly be a good victory off it.

During his work as a television pundit for broadcaster RT, Jose Mourinho revealed himself to be a big fan of the Russian saying: “Golovin is a playmaker, he’s a player that gives the dynamic of the team.”

And, his former boss at AS Monaco, Niko Kovac, simply said: “Golovin is a fantastic player. For his first start since August, he’s scored three goals. He’s a world-class player. He delivers delicious passes. I know the quality of his passing. That’s why I asked him to take the free-kick that led to the third goal.”

In fact, Toffees legend Tim Cahill has previously thrown his backing behind a potential swoop for the creative star, saying just last year: “He (Golovin) is a great footballer. After yesterday’s 4-1 defeat against Liverpool, it is clear that Everton needs good players. He could strengthen the team.”

As per Whoscored, he has averaged 1.5 key passes per game in Ligue 1 this season for Monaco, good enough to rank him inside the top 20 in the entire division – real evidence of the kind of creativity and guile that he possesses.

The £22.5m-rated midfielder could provide Everton with an extra spark in midfield, and have fans buzzing.
