A situação do São Paulo é delicada, basta ver no discurso dos jogadores. Nesta quinta-feira, o lateral-esquerdo Edimar disse que o grupo terá de se doar mais do que 100% para salvar o time do rebaixamento no Campeonato Brasileiro. O Tricolor ocupa a 19ª colocação com 23 pontos.

– Claro que no momento como este qualquer jogador se sente pressionado. Sabemos da responsabilidade de jogar no São Paulo, ainda mais na zona do rebaixamento. Mas saliento que o trabalho do Dorival tem sido muito bom, e sabemos que temos a condição de sair. Só que precisamos nos entregar mais. Se não nos doarmos mais que 100%, não vamos salvar o São Paulo – declarou o lateral-esquerdo.

Edimar vem sendo titular com Dorival Júnior, mas agora terá a volta de Júnior Tavares na concorrência. O jovem se recuperou de uma lombalgia e voltou a treinar com o grupo. O titular não se incomoda.

– Essa disputa é bem sadia, todos têm procurado seu espaço. Quando tive a oportunidade, trabalhei. E ele voltando, vai buscar o espaço dele, mas ele tem de saber quem tem alguém que tem jogado,. Acredito muito no meu potencial, quem decide é o Dorival – analisou o camisa 16.

Defesa é o que está prejudicando?
De fato, sabemos que precisamos melhorar a parte defensiva. E não é somente os quatro que estão ali atrás, é todos que precisam se doar mais. Temos de trabalhar, vocês sabem o quanto estamos trabalhando. Claro que precisa de atenção no jogo, temos feito gols, e precisa de atenção na hora de matar o jogo.

Semana de treinos
Tem coisas que precisamos corrigir, algo que temos falhado. Na parte defensiva, e também na tática do time. É sempre benéfica para o time se recondicionar, colocar as ideias em prática, e é o que temos feito

Fase do time atrapalha renovação de contrato?
Nem tenho pensado nisso, apenas em tirar o São Paulo dessa situação. A confiança é muito grande de sair. Mas minha grande preocupação nesse momento é de tirar o São Paulo dessa situação, trabalhar para corrigir os erros, e depois de contrato vamos ver mais para a frente.

Está sobrecarregado na marcação?
Não, está todo mundo se doando. Mas, como eu disse, é preciso um pouco mais de cada um. Se a gente não tiver essa consciência, vai ficar difícil para a gente tirar o São Paulo dessa situação.

Preocupação com a fase
A preocupação é muito grande. Jogar no São Paulo não é fácil, tricampeão mundial. Estamos preocupados, sim. Mas a confiança é muito grande que vamos dar a volta por cima.

Tem peso nas pernas nessa situação?
Acho que peso nas pernas já não tem, essa pressão, palavra está muito extinta. Todo jogador que está aqui tem muita história. E os mais jovens estão recebendo condições para fazer o melhor possível. Mas peso nas pernas acho que não, temos de ter consciência que estamos em time grande

Por que Cueva não está mais jogando bem?
Isso é uma avaliação de vocês. Sabemos da grande qualidade que ele tem. É um jogador que precisa, como todos, se doar mais. Sabemos que é um grande jogador, e precisamos muito dele para sair dessa situação.

Ano passado o Cruzeiro sofreu mas escapou. O que o São Paulo precisa fazer?
Trabalho. Aí o Mano Menezes chegou, e tivemos uma sequência de resultados positivos. O Mano colocou suas características, fechou também na parte defensiva. E conseguia vencer os jogos. É isso que precisamos.

Liverpool saw their unbeaten run in the Premier League this season come to an end with their 3-2 defeat against West Ham United at The London Stadium.

An early own goal from Reds goalkeeper Alisson Becker put the visitors behind in the early stages before they managed to equalise with a brilliant free-kick from Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The second half saw Jurgen Klopp’s side concede two more goals from Pablo Fornals and Kurt Zouma before substitute Divock Origi managed to pull another goal back for Liverpool.

One player that featured in the match for Liverpool that didn’t cover himself in glory on this occasion, arguably even more so than Alisson, was Sadio Mane.

The Brazilian goalkeeper was at fault for all three of the goals that the Reds conceded, helplessly flapping at the opener before struggling for the rest of the game. However, they were far from perfect in offensive areas either.

In the full 90 minutes that he was on the pitch for, Mane missed two big chances to score and surrendered possession on 13 occasions during a dismal outing for the Senegal international.

He won just two of the six duels he was involved in, didn’t make any tackles and was dribbled past twice by an opponent. That ultimately earned him an overall match rating of 6.2/10, making him the lowest-rated outfield Liverpool player on the day according to SofaScore, highlighting just how disappointing he was on the day in an attacking and defensive sense, undoubtedly letting Klopp down in the process.

Although he threatened in the final third, it was his late miss that just about summed up Liverpool’s day when they had an ideal opportunity to equalise and take home a point but he somehow failed to find the net.

So far this season, Mane has played the full 90 minutes in all but one of Liverpool’s Premier League games so far this season, scoring six goals in the process, showing that he has been an important attacking figure for Klopp in this campaign, but just couldn’t help his side secure a win on this occasion.

This suggests to us that while his place in the team may not be under threat for the time being, Mane will need to make sure he doesn’t keep delivering underwhelming performances going forward as he did on Sunday so Liverpool can keep up with the likes of West Ham as well as Chelsea and Manchester City at the top of the league table.

Moving forward, with the latest international break underway, everyone at the Merseyside club will undoubtedly be hoping that Mane, who is currently earning a weekly wage of £100k-per-week according to Spotrac, and the rest of his teammates can put this defeat behind them and focus on getting back to winning ways when the Premier League returns in a couple of weeks.

Many West Brom fans have been left buzzing as some early team news has emerged ahead of their game away at Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon.

As per the official website of the Hawthorns faithful, Valerien Ismael has now confirmed that four first-team players are available for selection after recovering from injuries.

Jake Livermore, Alex Mowatt, Jayson Molumby and Matt Clarke have all returned to training in what is a big boost for Albion ahead of their match against the Terriers.

Several Baggies supporters were especially pleased to hear of Mowatt’s return, who has not played for them since mid-October, but managed to score three goals and make one assist in his previous 12 appearances for them in the Championship (Transfermarkt).

Nonetheless, to have four first-team players returning at the same time is always a welcome boost.

Após fazer o melhor primeiro turno da história do campeonato com 20 clubes, com 47 pontos e invicto, o Corinthians não iniciou bem a segunda parte do Brasileirão. Nos quatro primeiros jogos do returno, foram três derrotas e uma vitória, mas Cássio confia na retomada dos bons resultados a partir deste domingo, quando o Timão recebe o Vasco, na Arena, pela 24ª rodada.

– Sabemos aonde queremos chegar, qual é o nosso objetivo. Também sabemos que caímos um pouquinho nos jogos. Felizmente os adversários tropeçaram também, então é ir em busca dos pontos. Temos de voltar a ganhar em casa, não pode perder mais pontos em casa, e tentar pontuar fora. Precisamos voltar a ser um time regular. Com trabalho e humildade, vamos conseguir retomar as vitórias – analisou o goleiro.

Cássio confia na retomada do Corinthians principalmente por conta da união do grupo. Para o goleiro, que está no clube desde 2012, o elenco atual é o mais unido com que já trabalhou.

– Aqui sempre foi muito forte a união. Todos os grupos foram sensacionais, mas confesso que esse é um pouco diferente dos outros, acho que a união é mais forte. Nós conversamos bastante, tem uma boa mescla com jogadores novos, e o entendimento e respeito são muito grandes. Não sei o que vai acontecer até o fim do ano, mas esse é o melhor ambiente de união que já trabalhei aqui – destacou Cássio.

Durante os cerca de 25 minutos de entrevista exclusiva, o goleiro falou sobre sua fase especial no Corinthians, chegada à Seleção e as críticas que a equipe sofreu neste início de segundo turno. Confira:

Qual foi o jogo mais importante para o Corinthians ganhar o primeiro turno?
É difícil de falar assim agora. Foram muitos jogos difíceis, e nos superamos. Acho que o jogo contra o Grêmio, que era confronto direto, o clássico contra o Palmeiras, teve também o clássico contra o São Paulo… Teve uma série de jogos que ajudaram a equipe a ser campeã no primeiro turno.

Como acha que a equipe saiu de contestada para ser líder do Brasileirão?
Muitos jogadores do elenco não foram contestados no começo do ano. Jogadores que teoricamente não tinham expressão, falavam que não iam dar certo… Muitas vezes as pessoas esquecem como falavam do Corinthians. Não é questão de preço do jogador, sem querer desmerecer. Acho que é envolvimento e a vontade do jogador de querer estar no grupo. Não é fácil vestir a camisa do Corinthians, e muitos jogadores conseguiram dar resposta e ajudar a equipe. Eu mesmo quando cheguei em 2012 fui muito contestado, e eu entendo porque não era um jogador conhecido, só era conhecido no Sul por ter jogado no Grêmio, depois fui para a Holanda e joguei pouco, mas agarrei a oportunidade e tenho conseguido evoluir.

Como foi a mudança em relação a 2016?
Se você for pegar o time que tínhamos no ano passado, de repente tivesse mais qualidade do que o deste ano. Mas a mentalidade dos jogadores que estão aqui este ano faz muita diferença. Os que chegaram se adaptaram ao estilo do Corinthians, e isso é fundamental para as coisas darem certo.

Agora em relação ao segundo turno, como o grupo encarou as críticas após as derrotas?
Não estamos contentes com os resultados, mas acredito que em alguns momentos muita gente se aproveita para falar. Cabe a nós termos a nossa opinião, nós não mudamos com esses resultados, a confiança e o jeito de trabalho continuam os mesmos. Tudo continua inabalável. Estamos sujeitos a ganhar ou perder. Nunca falamos que nossa equipe era invencível. Lógico que sempre queremos ganhar, mas infelizmente não conseguimos nos últimos jogos. Não é por falta de vontade e dedicação. Assim como quando vínhamos ganhando e pensávamos em melhorar, agora também temos de ter esse pensamento, ver onde pode melhorar, esse é o caminho. Não dá para fazer uma bola de neve gigantesca por causa dessas derrotas. Temos confiança no grupo e sabemos aonde queremos chegar.

Por que acha que a equipe perdeu?
É um conjunto. Quando ganhamos, sempre pensamos no conjunto, e não porque o ataque fazia gols e a defesa não sofria muitos gols. Acho que agora não conseguimos os resultados por causa do conjunto, e não achar que o culpado é esse ou aquele.

Sobre a sua fase, “mudança” foi a principal palavra para te definir em 2017?
Foi e é. Mudança tem de sempre acontecer, tem que sempre reciclar, evoluir e crescer. Com apoio da família, amigos e principalmente da minha noiva, pude fazer isso. Acho que o que está acontecendo na minha carreira não foi só por causa da pré-temporada, veio de antes até. Vou trabalhar muito para que não seja só neste ano, buscar sempre tentar ser melhor.

E como encarou sua ida para a Seleção?
Se for pegar meus números, acho que fiz por onde estar na Seleção. Não caí de paraquedas ou porque o Tite foi meu treinador aqui. Acho que é mérito do trabalho, quem está aqui sabe o quanto me dedico para as coisas acontecerem.

Após Muricy Ramalho se colocar à disposição para ajudar o São Paulo, nesta terça-feira foi a vez de o clube abrir as portas para o ex-treinador. O diretor executivo Vinicius Pinotti disse que não há possibilidade de Muricy assumir o cargo de coordenador técnico agora, devido a seus compromissos com o SporTV, mas pode contar com outras formas de contribuição. Uma conversa entre as partes, o que ainda não houve, deve acontecer nos próximos dias.

– Tomamos conhecimento da declaração do Muricy, sabemos que ele tem contrato (com o SporTV), ele é muito honesto, historicamente cumpre seus compromissos, mas nada impede que ele possa vir a ajudar o São Paulo – disse Pinotti, em entrevista coletiva após o treino desta terça.

A diretoria tem sofrido pressão para contratar Muricy no cargo de coordenador técnico. Nesta terça, um grupo intitulado Resgate entregou um abaixo-assinado com mais de sete mil adesões a favor da medida. No entanto, Pinotti descartou o retorno de Muricy dessa forma, novamente ressaltando sua função de comentarista.

– O Muricy não pode assumir nenhuma função oficial no São Paulo, o que não impede de ele trabalhar informalmente, ele já fez isso com outros presidentes. Oficialmente esse cargo não tem intenção de ser criado. Toda vez que se fala de coordenador técnico, você precisa falar com o seu técnico. Zagallo e Parreira, Felipão e Murtosa, era bom pra todo mundo. Não podemos impor um coordenador ao Dorival. Tem de ser discutido com ele – explicou.

O dirigente aproveitou e também bancou o comandante atual. Disse estar satisfeito com o trabalho, mas que ainda faltam os resultados.

– Estamos satisfeitos com o trabalho dele. Ainda não foi refletido dentro de campo, que é o principal, mas estamos muito satisfeitos com o trabalho dele. Dorival é nosso treinador, não tenha dúvida disso. Acreditamos em continuidade, não dá para ficar mudando toda hora, o caminho não é esse – declarou Pinotti.

Por fim, disse que a diretoria está temerosa com a fase do time, 19º colocado no Campeonato Brasileiro, mas acredita na reação.

– A situação é horrível. Claro que estamos temerosos, temos trabalhado bastante para tentar reverter isso. Estamos focados em tirar o time dessa situação há algum tempo, não é de agora – afirmou.

Sobre Muricy, ele mesmo disse no programa “Bem, Amigos” na última segunda-feira que está muito satisfeito com a função de comentarista no SporTV. Ele está escalado na equipe que participará da Copa do Mundo de 2018 na Rússia. Quem o conhece bem no clube diz que ele não largará a função, o que de fato inviabiliza sua volta em algum cargo. Mesmo assim, ele se prontificou a ajudar o clube de alguma maneira. Em 2013, como técnico, Muricy foi símbolo da campanha que livrou o time do rebaixamento.

-Não recebi nenhum contato, ninguém me procurou. Mas sabe o que a gente balança um pouco? Porque eu queria ajudar o São Paulo de qualquer maneira. Não como técnico, que aí não tem mais chance. Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard has suffered a major injury blow before his side’s Premier League clash against Brighton today.

What’s the story?

The former Rangers boss will take charge of his first game with his new club when the Seagulls come to town this afternoon, but the 41-year-old will be without the services of one of his team’s midfield lynchpins in Douglas Luiz.

The Brazilian picked up a thigh problem ahead of the game against West Ham three weeks ago and has missed the last two games in the Premier League as a result, and it appears that he will not make it back for the visit of Brighton either.

Major setback for Gerrard

While Villa’s poor run of form has cast a dark cloud over the club in recent weeks, Luiz’s performances as a whole has actually been one of the rare shining lights.

While last season was a bit of a difficult one for the Brazilian – as per WhoScored, his average match rating of 6.67 was only good enough to rank him 15th in the entire Villa squad – his start to the current campaign has been outstanding.

In fact, his average rating of 7.0 is the best of any Villa player, and he continues to be a cornerstone of the midfield. Last term saw him play 33 out of the possible 38 Premier League games as the Midlands club finished just outside the top ten.

Reports over the course of the summer suggested that Serie A giants AS Roma were interested in signing the Brazil international, but a move failed to materialise.

The Athletic’s Gregg Evans shed some light on the situation and revealed: “They expected more interest in Douglas Luiz, too. Strong messages that Manchester City were ready to activate a buy-back clause found their way to members of the Villa hierarchy, and for some time they were preparing for such an outcome.

“Villa were also open to moving Luiz on elsewhere and at the right price, but there wasn’t enough interest… Roma continue to be linked with Luiz and if they come in strong during the January window, Villa will be in a good position to get a higher transfer fee should his form remain at this high level.”

In fact, in a recent poll on Football FanCast, 73% of Villa fans who answered said that they would not sell Luiz this summer (181 votes to 66) – an indication of just how concerning it would be were the Brazilian to make the move to Roma or somewhere else.

Given the 23-year-old’s importance to this Villa side, Gerrard will surely be gutted at not having Luiz to call upon for his first game in charge of the club against Brighton later today.

Meanwhile, Villa must finally sign this long-term transfer target…

أكد أحمد حسام ميدو لاعب الزمالك السابق، أنه يجب أن يحصل الفارس الأبيض على حقوق رعاية أكثر من الأهلي، مُشيرًا إلى تخوفه من عودة القلعة البيضاء إلى رقم 2 مرة أخرى.

وقال ميدو في تصريحات عبر قناة “الزمالك”: “أهنئ مرتضى منصور على الأداء الإداري الرائع الذي حدث في القلعة البيضاء، التغيير الجذري الذي حدث مُعجزة، لأن على مدار التاريخ كانت مشاكل النادي إدارية، اليوم أصبحنا نموذج إداري محترم في كل الألعاب”.

وتابع: “أمير مرتضى منصور يعمل مع مدرب محترم، يمتلك خبرات كبيرة ويستطيعان بناء فريق محترم، ولا تقلقوا يا جماهير الزمالك من التعاقد مع لاعبين في صفقات حرة دون أموال، كل الأندية الكبيرة تفعل ذلك وهذا نجاح”.

وأضاف ميدو: “نادي الزمالك الآن مُكتمل الأركان وفيه كل عناصر النجاح، وأنا على مدار تاريخي عندما كان الزمالك يقع في مشكلة كنت أول واحد أدافع عن الكيان، في وقت من الأوقات (كان في ناس في البلد عايزين يدوسوا على الزمالك لصالح الأهلي)، الثنائي الوحيد في مصر اللذين تصديا لهذا الأمر، أنا ومرتضى منصور، وخسرت وظيفتي في وقتها بسبب هذا الموقف، هناك رجل واجهته وقلت له أنت تنتمي للنادي الأهلي ولكن لا يصح أن تكون هذه مواقفك وأنت في منصبك”.

وواصل: “نحن الآن في نقطة فارقة، لأنني أرى أن الأمور تُعاد من جديد، وهناك أولويات يتم عملها للأهلي في بعض النقاط ونحن لن نصمت عليها، عندما يُقال إن حقوق رعاية الأهلي أكثر من مليار، يجب أن تكون رعاية القلعة البيضاء أكبر”.

واختتم: “يجب أن يحصل نادي الزمالك على نسبة من حقوق البث أكثر من الأهلي، والأيام أثبتت فنيًا وعلى المستوى الجماهيري، أكثر مباريات نسب مشاهدة هي الزمالك، أنا الآن متخوف إن ناد الزمالك يعود رقم 2 مرة أخرى”.
