Lee Bowyer believes that the Birmingham City owners are aware of his desire for steady progress in the Championship.

What’s been said?

In a recent interview, the Blues boss insisted that the club’s Trillion Trophy Asia owners accept the fact that progress under him will be steady rather than spectacular ahead of his first full season in charge at St. Andrew’s, as the 44-year-old looks to gradually rebuild his Birmingham City squad this summer.

As cited by Birmingham Live, Bowyer said: “I think they recognise what has happened at the club the last few years and what position – taking this year out obviously, being in relegation battles for the last few years.

“They recognise it’s not that simple, it’s like a stepping stone. You have to build slowly but surely and that’s what I intend to do. I am not going to go now from 15th or 16th and then climb into the top six. It is going to be very difficult.

“If we can just maybe next season get mid-table then progress from there, that’s my aim – just stay away from that relegation fight. Then you move from there.

“Then it might be ‘OK we might invest a little bit more’. Looking to the future they might then think ‘We’ll invest a little bit more’ and then we might have a push and try and get in and around those play-off places.

“You have got to become stable, haven’t you? I think we have got to stabilise the place because to keep having those relegation fights is not good. If we can stabilise and just finish higher each season then you are moving in the right direction as a club.”

Fans will be buzzing

As Bowyer states, the last few years have not particularly been a highlight of Birmingham’s illustrious history as a football club.

Having circled the Championship relegation zone in the past five seasons – finishing 19th, 19th, 17th, 20th and 18th in chronological order – it is clear that the Blues have lacked any real tactical direction under a variety of different managers.

Off the pitch, too, Birmingham’s owners have largely bought unwisely in the transfer market, spending a total of £43.62m in the last five seasons on incoming players – money that, considering the league finishes, has brought very little reward.

As a result of their spending on transfer fees and player wages, the club’s owners also were found guilty of breaking the EFL’s Financial Fair Play rules back in 2019, with Birmingham receiving a nine-point deduction, as well as having a business plan imposed on them by the league’s governing body.

As such, Bowyer’s comments revealing that Trillion Trophy Asia are content with him building the club back up slowly in order to eventually mount a push for a play-off place is likely to leave fans of the Blues buzzing, as, for the first time in a good while, it appears as if the club has a manager with a sustainable plan for Birmingham’s long-term future – rather than one chasing immediate glory, and he’s set to be allowed to carry out that plan by the board.

Um reforço que deve chegar é o volante Leandro Donizete, que tem contrato com o Atlético-MG apenas até o fim deste ano. O jogador é um pedido do técnico Dorival Júnior.

O Santos também busca reforçar o setor ofensivo com pelo menos mais um atacante de lado e um centroavante. O Peixe já demonstrou interesse por Cazares (Atlético-MG), Marcos Guilherme (Atlético-PR), Marinho (Vitória), Gabigol (Inter de Milão, da Itália), Robinho (Atlético-MG), Néstor Camacho (Guaraní, do Paraguai), Guerra (Atlético Nacional, da Colômbia) e Berrío (Atlético Nacional, da Colômbia).

وأوضح: “لقد حققنا الفوز في المباراتين الماضيتين رغم الأزمة، اعتمدنا على مهارات اللاعبين، لأن الأمر يتعلق بالمرونة والجاهزية البدنية لكل لاعب”.

وشدد: “عندما قلت بعد مباراة نورويتش أنه لابد أن نركز على ما يمكننا التأثير فيه للجماهير، كنت أعني ذلك تمامًا، نحن نتعامل مع الأمر، علينا أن نكون مع بعضنا البعض وأن نجد حلول”.

وأردف: “قبل الحديث عن المالك الجديد، يجب عليه أن يكون هكذا، أن يصبح مالك تشيلسي، لأنني لست الشخص المناسب للحديث عن من هو الأفضل لـ تشيلسي، لكن أن تكون مالكًا لنادٍ في هذا الدوري لابد وأن تكون هناك بعض الشروط الخاصة”.

A decisão pegou os funcionários do clube de surpresa. Os resultados do DM em 2016 foram considerados muito satisfatórios internamente, com boa parte dos atletas lesionados retornando antes do período estipulado.

O setor era um dos mais criticados antes da chegada da atual diretoria de futebol, que investiu em estrutura humana e equipamentos para otimizar os trabalhos ligados à parte física dos jogadores. O discurso era de que o problema antes não era a capacidade dos médicos, mas a falta de estrutura para fazer o tratamento necessário.

Rubens Sampaio estava no Palmeiras desde 2006, mas já havia passado pelo clube entre 1997 e 2001. Vinicius Martins estava no Verdão desde 1997, enquanto Otávio Vilhena estava desde 2000.

What’s the talk?

That’s according to a report by Football League World, who claim that the 33-year-old is considering his options ahead of the upcoming transfer window after a disappointing campaign in west London.

The report goes on to state that a number of Championship sides, including the likes of Bristol City, Derby County, Luton Town and Birmingham City, are keeping a close eye on the situation of the Ghana international ahead of a potential summer move.

Adomah must go

While there was a great deal of fanfare surrounding Adomah’s move from Nottingham Forest to QPR back in October, due to the £900k-rated forward’s obvious affection for the club, it would be a difficult argument to make that the 33-year-old had a good season for Mark Warburton’s side.

Although Adomah went on to feature 34 times in the Championship this term, it quickly became apparent that the former Aston Villa man was not a part of Warburton’s regular starting XI, with only seven of his league appearances coming as starts.

Over these appearances, the £13k-per-week winger hardly set the world alight, scoring two goals, registering five assists and creating seven big chances for his teammates, seeing him earn a rather disappointing seasonal SofaScore match rating of 6.74 – ranking him as QPR’s joint 11th-worst performer in the second tier this season.

As such, considering the fact that Adomah is the Rs’ joint highest-paid player at present, his returns do not justify his rather hefty weekly wage, leading us to believe that it would be a very wise move for Amit Bhatia to move the player whom Dean Smith claimed gives full-backs “real trouble” onto pastures new this summer.

Furthermore, with exciting youth prospects such as Ilias Chair and Chris Willock coming through at QPR – both of whom are comfortable operating from the wing – regularly playing a 33-year-old Adomah ahead of the youngsters could stunt their growth in Warburton’s side.

So, despite the romance of the winger playing for the club that he so clearly loves, a move away from the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium this summer may be the best option for all parties.

That’s according to a report by TWTD, who claim that Mark Warburton’s side, along with the likes of Brentford and Blackburn Rovers, are considering a move for the Ipswich Town midfielder upon the expiry of his contract at the end of the month.

It is reported that the Ipswich manager Paul Cook has informed the 22-year-old that he does not have a future at Portman Road and will subsequently be free to leave Suffolk in the coming weeks.

Bhatia must move

Considering just how important Dozzell was within the Tractor Boys’ side last season, the news that Cook has no intention of keeping the youngster on at the club this summer comes as something of a surprise.

Indeed, over his 43 League One appearances last term, the former England U20 international registered one assist and created 10 big chances for his teammates, as well as making an average of 1.5 interceptions, 1.7 tackles and 1.3 key passes per game.

These metrics saw the £3.5k-per-week midfielder earn a seasonal SofaScore match rating of 6.98, ranking him as the club’s joint seventh-best performer in the third tier of English football.

As such, the fact that QPR are considering a move for the player whom Paul Simpson dubbed an “incredible” talent this summer is hardly surprising, as the £810k-rated man appears to be a fantastic prospect for the future, as well as already being a considerable talent at present.

Furthermore, with Dozzell being available on a free transfer, a deal for the midfielder would also be extremely kind on the Rs’ finances, leading us to the conclusion that Amit Bhatia simply must do everything he can to get a deal over the line for the Ipswich star this summer, as his signing would not only benefit Warburton’s side on the pitch, but he would also represent excellent value for money.
